in a few short days, it will be a year since russia invaded the ukraine. at any time belarus could have stepped into this war on the side of russia, and taken an active role in the fighting.
it did not. nor has there been any showing whatsoever that the citizenry in belarus, or the military for that matter, would favor such a thing. thus far, therefore, it would appear that belarus does not applaud russian war aims in the ukraine. i would surmise, that it is logical to assume, that at no level nor for any reason would belarus wish a lot of russian troops on their soil, for any length of time.
tell me the weakness in these observations, if you will.--
again, it makes sense to me, for belarus to formerly partner up with the ukraine, and to make application to n.a.t.o. for full membership. to scoot, when the scooting is good.

p.s. and, do you seriously think that putin's hot little breath hasn't been on lukashenko's neck, trying to get him to "join the party." so far, he has resisted. i think, in the background, that n.a.t.o. should be approaching him, and saying, "name your price." tell me that i am wrong.
