i am a "stargate 1" fan. i like the entire team. i have to admit i have always liked "daniel jackson" the best, .... , that is until "lana" appeared on the scene. then, it was each of them that added zest to any particular episode.
but, nothing compares to those times when they are on screen together. there is a certain magic between them .... they are lightening fast with repartee, excel in physical comedy, and delightful as they play off the sexual tension that they make exist between them.
when they are not together on the screen, the pace of the drama just slows, is not so intense, and not so much fun to watch. they simply are spencer tracy and katharine hepburn in a sci fi oat burner, with all the same sophisticated wit and charm.
and, they bring a certain intelligence to the proceedings, the jimmer jabber of sci fi dialog. what's not to like?
here's to michael shanks and claudia black.***

a.a. milne could not have invented someone as malignant as joe biden in his absolute worst nightmare. a person such as biden would have been beyond the reaches of his wildest imagination, and for that, he would have been eternally grateful.

it has been often said of winnie the pooh that "he is a bear of very little brain."
in my view, the pooh bear is a towering intellect in comparison with the addlepated biden. moreover, pooh is a nice person, whereas biden is a calculating manipulative betrayer, and liar of monumental proportion.
i declare the pooh bear the hands down winner.
may the pooh captivate and charm forever, and may biden dry up and blow away to parts unknown as the autumn leaves, and the sooner the better. (we'll make room in the gutter for him.)

in the old days i would have said, "the saudi's recognize a pussy when they see one." but, this is a more enlightened age, so i will simply say, "the saudi's know a 'karen' when they see one."
there are no coincidental actions in the world.
joe biden has disgraced and humiliated the united state's standing in the world by his colossal fuck up in afghanistan. he simply pulled the rug out from underneath a state to which the u.s. has pledged support, and did the same to our allies who remain in afghanistan, in the main the french and the brits. he did this without telling anyone in advance.
in short, he betrayed the trust and reliance of just about anyone you can think of who were depending upon u.s. support. and, he showed the rest of the world that an idiot in the white house can unilaterally betray allies, and imperal their strategic situations, at the whim of a demented and damaged mind, not to mention a politically unscrupulous "mindset," (if such can be said about his swiss cheese head.)
you think the rest of the world wasn't watching, isn't watching. he has shown u.s. politics to be untrustworthy, and he has shown u.s. diplomacy and military assurance to be absolutely worthless. he has undone the work of republican and democratic administrations alike, and betrayed the american public and the servicemen and women who served and died in afghanistan.
you think the world wasn't watching. you think the saudi's weren't/aren't watching.
at geller reports, "saudi arabia announces military cooperation agreement with russia", by pamela geller, august 24, 2021. a saudi prince in russia signs the agreement, and it is photographed and the signing broadcast to the world. no news yet on the contents of the agreement, and its extent.

if you will remember the saudi's have been crucial allies in the middle east. if you will also remember, president trump was working on getting them to normalize relations with israel, as he did with several other arab nations. biden, it appears, has destroyed all of this, as he has destroyed american credibility all over the world.
the idiot biden has done incalculable harm to u.s. prestige, weakened its alliances, and he has destabilized 50 or 60 years of u.s. efforts to build peace in the world. the prospect for another ramp up of international terrorism is very real, and the possibility of war between moderate arab states, and an uholy alliance between afghanistan and iran, is a very real prospect.
why do you think the saudi's turned to the russians? think about it: the saudi's sure as hell did.

problem no. 1.)the airport is not a safe place to be, assuming that you (as an american wishing to be evacuated), can even get to it through the taliban, al queda and isis surrounding it.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/deadly-firefight-erupts-at-kabul-s-airport-amid-the-evacuation-chaos .... this, today, from cnbc's net service (this is not a hot link ..... you'll have to google it.) btw, 5 persons were killed in this gun battle, supposedly airport "security." no mention of how many "attackers," if any, died or were wounded. this doesn't hint of "stability," now does it.
update no. 1, 08.26.2021. a bomb goes off at the "gate" which is supposedly to be used by u.s. citizens/personnel entering the airport to evacuate afghanistan. no report as of yet as to casualties, though this would seem to have been a "target rich" area for taliban and isis/alqueda types. this just underscores my previous posts about the stupidity of biden's "plans." he deserves impeachment, and perhaps a court martial and the firing squad. of course, the same could be said of the joint chief's of staff, who "signed on" for this insane evacuation: mark "karen" milley is a classic political pussy, no way around the conclusion. he would not have had the backbone to oppose biden & planners on this insane scheme. by the way, pamela geller at the geller report has an itemization of those supplies, weapons systems, small arms left behind in afghanistan ...... the taliban becomes a major military power in that part of the world. and, of course, the russians and the chinese are moving into afghanistan, like stink on shit. joe biden is an unmitigated disaster. his actions will result in the massive loss of american lives down the road, as we have to go to the mat with russia and/or china over this debacle. end update.
update no. 2, 08.28.2021. 150+ people were killed in this bombing, to include 12 or 13 united states marines; it is not clear from the news accounts how many u.s. service men & women were killed or wounded. i have not seen any updated figures on how many other americans died in the bombing, nor how many others were wounded in the bomb blast.
their blood in on the hands of joe biden and the joint chiefs of staff of the u.s. military. all should be impeached. all should be criminally prosecuted. all should go to prison. end update.
nothing but unvarnished opinion, dated 08.28.2021. after ducking out of the fight with the taliban in afghanistan, with no apparent warning to allies such as england & france which had military forces there, with the most inglorious and ill-planned "withdrawal & evacuation" in u.s. military history, the biden administration as "retaliated" against the taliban with a drone strike that killed 2 taliban operatives. they are touted as being high ranking types, but i have seen no names nor any validation of their importance as either war fighters or terrorist operatives. (not that i have the knowledge to identify them as such, nor to deny the claim as asserted by the biden administration.)
joe biden has seized the killing of the taliban to swear vengeance on the taliban ..... "we will not forgive, we will not forget." catchy, but, not much for substance. this undying vengeance will probably take the form of another strike at the taliban in the next 24 to 36 hours.
let me see, let's tally all of this up.--
on the one hand, the biden administration (and the joint chiefs of staff) craft the most ill-conceived withdrawal from an ongoing war in modern history. on the other hand, the taliban takes control of afghanistan in 11 or 12 days or so (forgive me if my count is not felicitous).
biden leaves behind u.s. citizens, operatives, and a gold mine of intelligence identifying covert operators and operations in the form of working and running computers. the administration cleverly manages to figure a way to abandon u.s. citizen and government employees, soldiers and intelligence operative with no way to get them out of afghanistand.
the taliban and/or isis and/or al queda plant a bomb at the kabul airport which kills about 170 people, with more probably to dies from extensive injuries. included in the dead are 11 or 12 u.s. marines, and a navy corpsman. at this time, there is no way to know the identities of those others who died, and whether they were u.s. citizens or afghani's.
(and, this day i read about a group of 23 young students from u.s. schools who were on a field trip to afghanistan who have been left behind, ... , and no one seems to offer an iota of hope that they will escape that hell-hole of a country. and, friends, we yet to see the full extent of the taliban savagery as they exact allah's revenge against their enemies.)
thousands have died since the withdrawal. thousands more will die. it is just going to play itself out that way.
against this, the united states has two taliban who are dead, and a speech by joe biden, and a promise to "do more" in the next 24 to 36 hours, such is the white-hot rage that will dissuade the taliban from any more dastardly deeds. forgive me, but i don't think a speech by joe biden (who true stripes are well known to the taliban) is going to dissuade them very much from doing what the taliban does best, which is rape, kill, beat and savage anyone who disagrees with them.
and, we americans. we have good old uncle joe. sort of makes you feel warm and fuzzy all over, doesn't it? end, unvarnished opinion.
p.s. i cannot even begin to predict when all the bloodletting ends in afghanistan, nor who will shed that blood, nor the manner of their deaths. i can predict, with a reasonable degree of certainty, that it is not going to be very pleasant, by any stretch of the imagination. these are people who cane defenseless people hiding in bushes. they really don't care what you think about things.
problem no. 2.)the "process in place," e.g., chaos, admits of no vetting or security checks on who is being loaded onto what transport, to who the hell knows what destination.
the u.s. & nato claim that in the last week or so, some 30,000 plus persons have been evacuated. who were they? where are they going? how are they to support themselves once they get there?
and, again, what is the process by which "security clearances" are issued? and, what, pray tell, prevents a taliban warrior with mischief on his mind from simply hopping aboard one of these "evacuation specials" just to see how the whole thing is run, and just to do a little mischief when and wherever he lands?
my initial assessment is that this whole thing is an idiot's enterprise, and nothing has occurred to this point to change my mind.

a friend, we'll just call her "val," has a theory on the "timing" of biden's "pullout"/troop withdrawal from afghanistan, and it suggests that biden is more motivated by political opportunism than strategic considerations and our military security in matters military.
the destruction of the world trade center towers was engineered by the taliban just a bit under 20 years ago, on 9/11/2001. her theory was that biden wanted a troop pullout completed somewhat before 9/11/2021, so that he could bask in public adulation and take credit for completing the "mission" in afghanistan to bolster his failing administration.
the timing was critical.
if the "pullout" was engineered too soon, then it was likely by the time that 9/11/2021 rolled around, that the taliban would have seized control before that date. no public celebration, no opportunity for biden and the democrats to take any credit at all for having "ended" the conflict with the taliban.
so, biden and his "strategic thinkers" decided to make the "pullout" a "fait accompli" before the taliban could react, and mobilize to again seize control of the country and its governmental apparatus, such as it is. if only the afghani government could have held on to control long enough, then there would have been time for biden and his coterie to take credit for extricating the country from an ongoing war, appearing more and more to be something of a quagmire.
but, the afghani government, as sponsored by the united states simply could not stay in power long enough to deliver the public celebration and "bragging rights" to biden and cohorts.
now, this i believe (and this is my observation, to the best of my knowledge though val may very well have considered it as well ... i just don't know) is the source of the very curious statement on biden's part, that he simply did not consider that the taliban could engineer a take over of power "so quickly." in other words, biden and his "brain trust" knew that the taliban was positioning itself for a take over in the not too distant future (this seems to be confirmed by revelation of state department analysis to that effect), but reveals their thinking to be that they would gain some time for something.
now, they couldn't gain time to remove people, if our troops and other assets were removed from the country. likewise, they couldn't gain time to remove equipment, military assets and dismantle military and intelligence gathering bases, if our troops and other assets were already removed from the country. nor could they remove afghan nationals who had helped the u.s. during the prosecution of the war, if our troops were gone.
the only thing, according to val's thinking (and now that she has voiced it, it has become my thinking) that biden's haste to pull off the "pullout" in such haste, leaving people, equipment, basis and a treasure trove in intelligence information for the taliban to seize and exploit, was to gain bragging rights that he and his administration and political party had ended the war before the 20th anniversary of the taliban attack on our shores.
and, i might add, this is the only thing that adds a logical context (insofar as understanding the mind of a demented person) to his statement that it didn't enter into his enfeebled consciousness that the taliban would seize power so quickly after u.s. troops left. "qickly" becomes a sensible consideration, only if we view it within the framework of getting "things done" before the 20th anniversary of 9/11/2001.
think about. i have. and, i find val's logic impeccable. i would welcome your views on the matter.

we have suffered a long train of abuses at the hands of this idiot and his administration, this usurper and his coterie who stole an election, and who have harmed this country irrevocably in the short period he has been in office. he is demented, and dangerous in the extreme.
he must go.
if congress will not do its duty to the american people, and move to protect the republic, by impeaching and/or deposing biden, then the american people must undertake to protect themselves by ridding him from office. we have the duty, and the obligation, to protect our country and to protect ourselves by getting rid of this menace to our liberties, rights and prerogatives as a people.
he must go. and, if necessary, it is proper that we rid the presidency of this menace, and this embarrassment. he harms us every second he remains in office, and he destroys our stature in the world, and imperils republican government and democracy with every breath he takes as president. we have to rid him of office.
john jay @ 08.22.2021
p.s. we have the god given right to protect ourselves from the mortal danger this idiot poses to each and every one of us, our progeny & posterity, and our heritage. we have the right to defend ourselves, each and every one of us.

i live in a town in n.e. oregon, about 5,500 population, give or take a few here and there, and it is, admittedly, a bit off the larger beaten paths. it is not a big town, and it is comprised of working people for the most part.
well, i've got news for the media smartypants, and high rise lefties, and modern day "progressives" who think they run the country, and think that afghanistan is no big deal, just business as usual, and the what the little people think is of "no-account." that this whole thing will just blow over.
bullshit.
everybody, and i mean everybody knows what happens, and to a person, they are outraged. they think the people who "were in charge" of the troop withdrawal should be drug into the streets, and tarred and feathered. and, this among the moderates. those of even disposition, and not easily excited, and who normally voice carefully expressed opinions.
people are mad.
and, they are accepting no excuses. and, they feel that there can be no excuse for what has happened.
especially leaving americans behind in afghanistan, and leaving military equipment of the most advanced nature behind for the taliban to take over and use. (i can only imagine what afghanistan's "neighbors" in the region are thinking about this. this must be horrified, and pissed off beyond belief. and, what rational person could blame them.)
my neighbors want heads to roll. they want military leaders held accountable, and fired. and, most of all, they blame joe biden for this screw up. i know people who voted for the dumb bastard, and to a person, they are horrified by this.
impeach the dumb bastard now!!!!! and get rid of any idiot in government who supports him. now!!!!!

as gomer pyle would say, "surprise, surprise, surprise!!" whudda thunk it, but isis and al queda are in afghanistan. apparently biden, the pentagon, senior military command didn't "thunk it," but afghanistan is crawling with terrorists. "surprise, surprise, surprise!!"
the epoch times.com/mkt__morningbrieft/pentagon-aware-of-reports-that-americans-are-being-beaten .....
by jack phillips august 20, 2021
i am not going to cite it, as it is being reported everywhere, but lindsay graham is saying that if substantiated that americans are being attacked or left behind, that such would be grounds for impeaching the idiot biden. and, it is my opinion, that if such proves to be the case, and it will with all the taliban running amok and the presence of terrorists from al queda and isis running around, it is also grounds to dismiss the entire joint chiefs of staff, and for removal of senior commanders in the c.i.a.
this whole situation is a catastrophe and a disgrace to the entire country.
john jay @ 08.21.2021
p.s. in my view
impeach biden now, before it is too late.
he has made us the laughing stock of the world, and so doing, has imperiled us. we are in grave danger because of his ineptitude. the man is an idiot, as are all who counsel him idiots.
