weimar, a town in germany.   the capital of the german state between wwi and wwii, and before adolf hitler took power in germany, never to relinquish it until he put a bullet in his head as the soviets closed in on his bunker at the end of wwii.

germany was known, for this brief period, as the "weimar republic."

on march 2 & 3, 2021 the united states federal reserve printed 2-trillion dollars.  $2 trillion.   under joe biden, it has "infused" $17-trillion's of printed money, out of "whole cloth."  and, the fed, under biden, may "inject" another $4 or $5-trillion into the economy during this year.

you figure it out.   hint: it is not making the money more valuable.

p.s.   were i you, i would lay in potables and staples, and get used to beans, bacon and biscuits for the next 4 or 5 years as we live through inflation, and depression.  ....   perhaps war & civil war, maybe at the same time.   buy wool blankets, wool clothing (to include heavy socks), and a couple of very good heavy synthetic sleeping bags.    as mae west said, "it's gonna get bumpy."

and, hang onto your guns.   shoot to kill, anyone who tries to take them.   period.

the sun never sets on the british (sporting) empire .....

it would seem that britain's love of sport has passed to the members of (past) empire.--

britain, the united states, canada, australia, india, pakistan, ... , so on and so forth and anywhere the empire once trod, all excel in some form of sport or another, or so it would seem.  i don't think even marx and lenin inspired such wide spread enthusiasm for sport (being a great leveler of people regardless of race, class, etc.), and though china and russia excel in sport, it is not something that they exported to their satellite clients with equal & undiminished enthusiasm.

and, it makes little difference the race, color, ethnic affiliations of (past) empire members.  all such "distinctions" mean little when the "empire" takes the field/the pool/the ocean/the roaring stream/the pitch, as all compete with equal fervor and skill, and in all sports.

it is quite remarkable.   has anyone any sort of adequate explanation, other than the love of sport?

simone biles ..... supportive words .....

simone biles quit in the middle of a competition.   no doubt some will excoriate her for this, and any other perceived faults.

i am not one of them.   and, i have a certain amount of sympathy for her.  the fact is, she is/was the only one on earth with an adequate view of things to decide the issues which caused her to quit, no doubt including the incredible press of continued competition at those levels such as her world comprised.

granted there are those who would have made welcome her compliment of skills, craft and dedication to supplant their own, and who would have loved being so good as she was, even as she called an end to her competitive career.   but, this begs the issue.--  for even lesser competitors than biles ultimately face the question, is it worth continuing the quest.   and, even they, though it may not be quite so earth shattering as bile's "toss in" of the towel, face the question of when it is good & proper to quit.

and, biles decided to quit, as was her absolute right to do so.***   whether it suited the sporting/viewing public, or anyone else, it was biles' decision to make, and her right to chose when she made it.  i suspect that her teammates probably saw it coming, if not now, then just a bit later, because at that level and intensity of competition, only a fire & motivation which springs deep from within the soul of the competitor can fuel the ability to go forward, and compete, and expose to the public the vulnerability that surrounds all who compete in public.

to do so reaps a great reward w/ success, and also exposes a competitor to the opprobrium that failure and human frailty exposes.  the risk of that can become an all-consuming debility, and i would imagine that this was becoming all too real for biles, and all too immediate, and all too imminent.  no one but biles could experience the reality of her experience, and no one but biles can adjudicate the wisdom of her decision:  with this, she lives forever.

i wish her well, and hope & trust she experiences equanimity.

*** as fortune would have it, those young women who stepped up into her place to compete did very well, from everything i have heard.   biles, of course, no doubt knew of their skill levels, and no doubt knew that they would fare well in competition.   she may have felt that now was simply their time to step forward and carry the mantle.  and, simply their time, to replace her in the harsh world of competition.   maybe she will explain.   and, maybe she will not.    i wish her only peace and quiet repose, as she may choose.

lest any of you imagine that "progressive/socialists" posit a gun-less state .....

lest any of you imagine that the little lefties posit a gun-less state, you are sadly mistaken.

there will be plenty of guns.   but, they will be in the possession of various agents of the state.   state police, political agents, the military of the state, and the political elite and very wealthy of the state.

do you think that they will have the guns to protect themselves from themselves?   no, they will have the guns to protect themselves from those who have no guns, e.g., the general populace.

do you think that there are no guns in china, russia, venezuela, germany, france and mexico?    there are plenty of guns in socialist paradise, a/k/a the various "workers paradises" that dot the earth ....  the only people in those states who do not have guns are, well, the "people" of the state.   the rulers of the state, it must be repeated, are hip deep in guns.

so, the next time some precious little "advocate" "advocates" for a gun-less state, just remember what that person means by that.   what they mean by that is that "they" will have guns, in order to tell you what to do, and to force compliance with what they tell you what to do.

it has never bothered me that no one, insofar as i am aware, has ever compared me to dwight david eisenhower, as i am not one of the great men of history as was "ike."    nor, even a very minor great man of history.   i am something of an average joe, as a matter of fact.

but, on the dumbest fucking day that i ever drew breath, (and there have been some "disappointing days" to say the least), i was never even close to the butt-wipe ignorance of u.s. general mark milley, who said that donald trump acted like adolf hitler, and that after the 2020 election he feared a "reichstag" moment from trump.

it is too damned bad that the gentlemanly pastime of dueling has fallen out of favor, as recourse to it from time to time would serve to at least partially eliminate this kind of bullshit.  with the revival of dueling (as a legal and gentlemanly endeavor),  a .54 ball to milley's idiotic face delivered at 40 paces might clean up his demeanor a little bit, or at least the prospect of it might give him a more disciplined tongue.   for a military leader to say this about the commander in chief is absolutely unforgivable.

alas, such is not the case, so the shit-for-brains milley remains the darling of the leftist propaganda machine.

p.s.   i did a very brief, admittedly perfunctory search, to see if milley has ever seen live and active combat in his nearly 40 year career in the army.   i could not find an instance where he has.   and, if he has, if apparently was not prolonged nor particularly noteworthy, nor repeated.    he appears to be, in reality, a leftist politician who was particularly adept at ass kissing, as most peace time generals who now serve.   simply put, careerists.

anyone who has knowledge to the contrary, please so inform me, and i will note it in these pages.   but, for right now, in my mind, he is simply an asshole and shithead of the first order.   with a big ass, and a good tailor, to cover his butt .....  which come to think of it, is a pretty apt metaphor for this careerist.

quite obviously, i think general milley is an absolute horse's ass for his remarks about donald trump.  (and, he is also an historical twit who knows nothing about adolf hitler's acts and proclivities).   that is my opinion.   and, it is very firm on milley and hitler, as i have been an avid student of hitler's actions and beliefs for many years now:  and, of the military & police & state  apparatus that carried them out.  milley is a first class ignoramus if he thinks there is any parallel between trump and hitler, no matter the extent of trump's actions as president.

keeping that in mind, i would recommend for your reading, "the cost of free speech," by michael peabody in liberty, a magazine of religious freedom, july/august 2021, pages 4-13.   liberty, issn 0024-2055, published bi-monthly ..... by the adventist church.

and, i would also remind you of this about free speech, as the perception of its contents, and the perception of its truth, often depends on just whose ox is being gored, as noted by old friend and mentor, rickey c. kimbrough, esq.

with this in mind, milley remains an asshole in my estimation.  and, something of a simpleton.   put simply.

 

oregon's governor, an incompetent dolt ..... my guess is, she pisses into the wind .....

when i was younger the state of oregon had wildfires and forest fires, some devastating, but most were put out in a more or less orderly fashion.

that was then, and this is now, and now the state of oregon could not put out a campground fire, confined to a fire pit.

it begins, and it ends, in the governor's office.  she is an absolute dolt, an incompetent power-hungry twit.   did i mention homely as a cinder-block fence?

fires rage throughout the state, ...., always, every summer.   they get put out in the early fall by rain fall, if then.   apparently no body in state government gives any thought over the winter about how to confront the coming summer fire season, .... , and, "fire season" is what the summers have become.  for, no advance preparation is ever evidenced, only confusion and incompetence.

why do idiots continue to elect this homely little troll?  oh, yeah, because she pays them to.   no fire fighters to be found among the welfare recipients, the "homeless," and the merely idle, apparently.   but, lots of open & willing palms to be greased.

be very careful of what you wish for, mr. biden, you may very well get it.

and, i will remind you of a salient aspect about a war between you lefty progressives and the rest of us.  "the rest of us," we bumpkins, make the food that you eat, e.g., we grow the crops, process them into food, and ship them to the places that you worthless turds live for consumption.   food starts with us, and has to go through us to get to you.

likewise, the water you drink starts with us before it gets to you.

and, finally, your effluvia, garbage and transportation hubs go through us.

and, we have the guns and the field craft to use them.

so, again, be very careful what you wish for, mr. biden, because if you get it, you will get it in spades.  period.   and, just for your consideration, guess who "will attract the most attention" in such a conflict?   just guess, you befuddled old poop.
