well, the plug is made and fitted to the plywood gun.
there are a couple of hole in the plug, where 1/4" pins were put in it to stabilize the walnut pieces when i put the epoxy to them. otherwise, i have learned from hard experience, the slabs get a little squirmy when pressure is applied.
i am having a late breakfast, so after that, i'll go look for some dowels to fill them in. don't really have to, but, may as well.
the plug fits the recess at the back of the lower receiver quite well, maybe a little too tight. but, i've put holes for pins, and when the plug is fast, i'll drill the pin holes through it, and epoxy the pins in place. the pins have the stainless clads to hold against, and i should have several hundred pounds in shear w/ the use of the pins.
a couple days, and i will have a buffer tub fitted*** into the plug, and then epoxied into place quite securely.

*** just like inletting a rifle barrel, and "gluing" it in. i wish i'd thought of this a year ago. it should work. we'll see. at any rate, if i build another, i will simply make the receiver long, have clads the full length, and hold the buffer tube just as i am doing in this iteration.
no machining of metal to do this, btw. did i mention that? ??? laughing. trying to figure out how to make a metal nut for the buffer tube & attach it bedeviled me for a long time. finally, it just occurred to me, that i did not have to go through all that.

caption: plug in receiver. this views shows holes for steel pins to be inserted and epoxying in just a bit. the pins will "ride" on the steel clads, and should give the plug lots of shear.

Shit. See what happens when I figure you've given up on your special little project, and are too busy to post much so I don't stop by regularly?

right wing:
i post regularly. when i feel like it.
not much to talk about, really. how many times can you show/prove/assert that obama is a law breaker, but the media doesn't report on it.
i get tired of their being no response.
so, i prepare in the best way i know how.
