jacob mugambi muriithi, a kenyan by birth and in this country by circumstances yet unexplained, threatened to cut off the head of a co-worker at a nursing home.
this person had the presence of mind to inquire, discretely, very discretely of mr. muriithi, just why he would want to do such a thing? she asked, apparently, just why he would target a christian person for such an act, ... , as i sit here, far removed from oklahoma and those events, that took some courage.
"this is just what we do," mr. muriithi explained. well, there you have it in a nutshell.
some people in oklahoma root for the sooners, and others in oklahoma (via kenya) chop off heads.
in mr. muriithi's mind, it is as simple and straight forward as that. he was, of course, brought up muslim, and perhaps educated in the madrasa, and he has proved attentive at his studies. no doubt an adept.
for it is, exactly & precisely, just what muslims do. everywhere. always. "strike at the neck." as it has been, as it is, and as it every shall be in islam.

p.s. i suppose it is perfectly obvious to ask, just who in the fuck is responsible for bringing muslims into the united states, where it isn't just perfectly natural to cut off the heads of christians, or, even atheists, for that matter.
p.s.s. and, speaking of atheists.-- has any one of you listened to the exchange between bill maher and charlie rose, in which mr. maher explained very patiently to the incredulous rose, that, yes, there is a difference between religions, and muslims kill people to advance their religion, which most other religions do not do so much anymore. and, maher went on to explain to rose, that this instruction in the koran is not subject to change or interpretation to fit a more modern age, because the koran and the haddiths are fixed.
i do not often sing the praise of mr. maher, but, on this matter, he hits the nail squarely on the head, leaving rose just a bit incredulous. it was a truth he was not prepared to blunt, because it came from a source he did not anticipate, and maher, you will excuse the observation, handed mr. rose his head on a platter.
i heard this discussed on a very good radio program put out by the catholics. i was quite amazed at the good sense on this subject displayed by the moderator, which shows genuine progress on how american intellectuals (well, at least some of them) are beginning to recognize certain truths relating to islam.
not soon enough, in my estimation, but, better late than never.
"the brain eater's bible: sound advice for the newly reanimated zombie," by j.d. mcghoul w/ pat kilbane, st. martin's press, new york, new york 2010. isbn 976-1-250-02401-5 .
some of this book is very funny, and meant to be so.
some of this book is extremely useful, for any number of reasons. i suspect that this is also meant to be so.
i suggest very strongly that you read it in its entirety, and take from it what is useful for when the turmoil happens. it is set in a time of fictional apocalypse, but, it has nonfictional application. as did "gulliver's travels."
as i contemplate this post, i am reminded as well of remarks attributed to justice oliver wendell holmes, saying that "... consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds." because this is a search for consistency at root, and also a bit of a plea for some level of competency in the conduct of american affairs.--
i start by observing that ambassador stevens was murdered by "moderate" islamic forces in lybia, while engaged in the "buy back" of ground to air missiles given to them by america and others in their revolt against mommar khadafi. these arms were being shipped from libya to syrian "rebels" fighting the assad regime, shipped from lybia to turkey via a port in turkey some 35 miles from the syrian city of aleppo. their presence in syria was confirmed when several aircraft of assad's syrian regime were down by missle fire near aleppo.
so, to this point, lybia "moderates" murder a u.s. ambassador to capture missiles which the u.s. had in warehouses in benghazi for which the u.s. had just paid them good money. these missiles were to be shipped, and were being shipped, to "rebels" fighting the repressive assad regime. presumably those "rebels," backed by iran and heavily infused w/ hezbollah, hamas and abbas troops, were aso "moderates."
but, that is ancient history. outside the attention span of gnats.
now, the obama administration has decided that i.s.i.s., a cheerful little group of islamic brigands given to cutting off heads and murdering, plundering and savaging anyone who doesn't meet their fancy, is to be destroyed. presumably, because they are not "moderates" given to killing american ambassadors such as the lybians in benghazi, and presumably because they are not "moderates" along the lines of hezbollah, hamas and abbas who are given to blowing up buses in israel, and slitting the throats of israeli children while the sleep abed. (and, because they have not cut the heads off any american journalists, as of late, or within anyones recollection.)
so, in case anyone is not thoroughly confused at this point, obama also has noted that while he wants to kill i.s.i.s. and destroy it, .... , because it is not moderate and is therefore a terrorist group worthy of extinction, and being extinguished by american forces, .... , he also wants to fund, e.g., provide more arms and weapons to, the moderate rebels in syria who still seek to depose the assad regime.
you know, just like the same moderates in lybia who killed ambassador stevens, when they stole the weapons we had just bought back from them. after we gave them to them, to depose khadafi. to be used to depose assad. and, now we seek to kill those who seek to depose assad, because they are a bit too brutal for our tastes. and, threaten us with annihilation.
just as does the entire body of islam in the world. especially hammas, abbas and hezbollah, and iran, who sponsors all of them. iran, which also supported the assad regime in syria.
so, i think again of casey stengel, who observed, "doesn't nobodyt here know how to play this game?"
i am also reminded, (constantly, it seems, these days) of the immortal words of bugs bunny, "it is to laugh, it is to cry."
he might have well as added, "... it is to despair." for, to attempt to discern "good" islamic militancy from "bad" islami militancy is a fool's game. there is no distinction to be drawn between any of them. i don't mind the notion of killin evey i.s.i.s. adherent on the planet, but to back some and kill others of the same stripe, strikes me as nonsense.
and, a fundamental incompetency in pursuing the legitimate aims of democracy, and free market economies. in short, we do not advance the interests of person freedoms and liberties, by backing one group of murderous cut throats and zealots at the expense of another. "moderate," or otherwise.
john jay @ 09.10.2014
p.s. please do not forget that lybian "moderates" killed ambassador stevens, sexually violated him before they killed him, and then drug his violated body through the streets. this, after we had given them weapons to depose khadafi.
islam owes no debts of gratitude, knows no loyalty, save to islam. period.
i loathe and detest microsoft. they'v earned it.***
i am babysitting my daughter's house, while she and her newly minted husband honeymoon. that basically entails feeding a dog and a cat, and making sure they go pet potty on schedule, and take their meds.
they left me a samsung tablet to communicate with the world. it would not accept the data i gave it to sign into my gmail account, and sometimes not even to sign into google. well, i worked on it for 2 days solid, more or less (what else do i have to do?), to no avail, so i gave up on it.
i went to a local big box, and purchased a very cheap hp laptop, but equipped with windows 8.1. i encountered problems with it immediately, as it would not accept the fact that i do not possess or use a cell phone. but, i finally got it up and running. and, guess what, it would not open my google gmail account either, rejecting my password. so, i set up a new gmail account, which functioned just fine, for a little bit. then it transpired that if i went to the gmail sign in box, it would not accept the new password.
well, no problem.
i had set up a windows email account in "outlook." so, i determined to just rebuild my email list in outlook, in case i can never reopen the gmail account. (hint: google are just as big a bunch of dickheads as the microsoft people, and it is the battle between them for control of the new computer which causes all the problems.)
well, i just tried to open "outlook." guess what? it is blocked. because of "unusual account" activity, e.g., my attempts to get into my gmail/google accounts. (yes, they are punishing me for the hopeless mess their idiotic codes & programming created. the dicks.) and, all i have to do, is just give microsoft a phone number to which they will send various access codes. this prompt, in spite of the fact that microsoft's computer "knows" i don't have a phone.
so, i.s.i.s. is a real scourge to the world, and deserves to be absolutely destroyed, down to the last adherent of their asinine creed. but, if i had only one nuke, and one delivery system, it would go right through the men's room window at the microsoft headquarters, and i would march to the gallows with a very cheery smile on my face. whistling a happy tune. something along the line of, "don't worry, be happy," i suppose.
if there is a bigger bunch of assholes on the face of the earth than employed by microsoft, i would like to know about it.
john jay @ 09.09.2014
*** there is absolutely no doubt at all why every hacker in the world delights in screwing w/ microsoft. and, why they are hated.
politicized gaza. the last time i visited the subject of gaza, i called a dutch man who gave a holocaust medal back for aiding jews during wwii an idiot. he did so because family was killed in gaza by israeli shelling, or airplane attack, i cannot remember, but it makes no real difference. dead is dead. i see no reason for altering my opinion.
the dutchman in question is henk zanoli, who did perform heroic service and put his entire family at risk to help a jewish boy escape capture by the nazis. he returned his medal because he now sees no distinction between the aggression of wwii nazis, and the attack of the israeli state upon gaza. family is family. and, he sees death in gaza as a result of murder perpetrated by israel.
and, i still think him an idiot. i don't think deaths resulting from israel's action as murder, instead seeing them as justifiable homicide and self defense, in the face of unrelenting attack on israel by islam.
be that as it may, it was something in the blog post above about henk zanoli that got me to thinking about "noncombatant status" as a concept to be applied in gaza, and how the concept is stretched to its utmost when applied to the gazans. and, in my viewed, it is stretched so much as to be obliterated.
in short, i don't think it is a "protection" that should be conferred upon gazans in the context of war provoked against israel by hamas. the good citizens of gaza are part and parcel, in my view, of the provocation sustained by israel, and by being so, render themselves legitimate targets of warfare.
these are the words from the post that got me to thinking along this line.--
... on july 20th, an Israeli airstrike flattened a house in the gaza strip killing six of zanoli’s relatives by marriage. his grandniece, a dutch diplomat, is married to a palestinian economist, ismail ziadah, who lost three brothers, a sister-in-law, a nephew and his father’s first wife in the attack.
... in gaza, zanoli’s [palestinian] in-laws say his gesture is a fitting response to the losses of their family and others who have lost multiple relatives in strikes on homes. those in-laws include dr. hassan al-zeyada, a psychological trauma counselor who is an older brother of ismail ziadah. zeyada’s mother, muftiyah, 70, was the oldest family member to die in the bombing.
mr. zanoli is complaining of the death's of persons who are part and parcel of the hamas governance of gaza, and who are part of the gazan power structure. mr. zanoli's "in-laws" were not simple bakers, shoe repairman and street vendors, but part of the gazan ruling hierarchy, obviously in the elites, married to a dutch diplomat and obviously working with a mental health professional treating members of hamas, no doubt. in short, mr. zanoli is asking that members of the governing body of hamas are to be exempt from the consequences of war brought on by the acts of hamas. mr. zanoli uses the entire panoply of terms brought in attack upon israel by european leftists, and then concludes that israeli actions are indistinguishable from those against the jews by the nazis.
he rather conveniently ignores that wwii saw european jews loose 6 millions or so against an overall population of __ million jews, while the latest israeli offensive against hamas killed around 2,500 say as against a palestinian population in gaza and the west bank of some __ millions. mr. zanoli also rather conveniently forgets that hamas brought this war on, with its ongoing missile attack against israel and other acts of terrorism by hamas, hezbollah and abbas. he also rather conveniently forgets that abbas/hamas/hezbollah mean to prosecute the war in the future, when conditions are ripe: small matter to a convinced leftist.
gaza as "pill box." the u.s. marines have encountered gaza a number of times in recent history. at peleliu, and then at iwo jima, which were two small islands with defensive positions linked by caves and tunnels, and positions of interlocking fire, in enfilade and defilade. then at fallujah, and then the cemetery at najaf defended by the islamist mahdi army of muqtada al-sadar. the marines were tasked with rooting out foes who were dug into caves and tunnels and crypts, all with interlocking fields of fire.
and, they did so.
and, this is what israel confronted in gaza.
gaza is not a city, nor a collection of neighborhoods. it is a series of pill boxes and forts, constructed of reinforced concrete building serving multiple tasks as mosques, homes and businesses, all interlinked with a series of major tunnels going into israel and egypt, and linked by cross tunnels between them.
these tunnels are used to protect the hamas leadership from direct shell fire and bombardment, and used to store and transport arms, stores for battles, and missiles and launchers for deployment and launch against isreal.
take a look at the lead picture in this article.--
these tunnels are offensive weapons of war, designed to facilitate missiles launches, and direct attack upon israel civilian targets, to include school children. it does abbas and hamas no good to deny this, given their proclivity towards slitting baby's throats and attacking school yards and schools. the incidents are too numerous to list, or to deny.--
but, there is another point about these tunnels, which i mean to touch on, given the matter at hand.
the tunnels are an amazing infrastructure and they were not built in a day. they are sophisticated structure, requiring the use of advanced tunneling techniques, steel beams and girders as shoring materials, and a whole lot of concrete as structure to resist shelling and bombing.
they were and are major construction projects. these are not projects that go on without the notice of those in the neighborhoods where they are built, just as you do not occupy a modern city without noticing the freeway being built right down the middle of it, or the tunnel dig going on in boston.
they are also not just little things thrown together by a bunch of guys down at the local mosque, using hands and trowels and shovels, as some idiot wrote in an american east coast newspaper. they are sophisticated structures requiring a lot of engineering and design, and they were structures that required a whole lot of sophisticated survey in order to terminate under schools, villages and near israeli observation posts and military installations.
contrary to what some dipshit says in a leftist newspaper editorial, these were and are tremendously sophisticated structures that required engineering, survey and construction elements involving the entire gazan infrastructure, and a good deal of the gazan work force as laborers and workers. you don't build a modern above ground freeway w/ idiots from the local tavern, and you don't build these kinds of tunnels with guys getting together after moque for a few hours of volunteer labor.
and, you don't build the entrance to a tunnel near a home, or near a hospital, without the people in the area knowing about it.
there is one final matter. two actually, though so interrelated as to be about the same topic.
and, that is, these tunnels were marvelously expensive to build, just in terms of the materials that went into them. and, the excavation was done by expensive machinery, and not with little buckets and miniature shovels, as in the building of sand castles at the beach.
the gazan exchequer was responsible for the public expenditure of funds to build the damn things, and the entirety of the gazan political structure and hierarchy determined how much of its exchequer and yearly budget to devote to them, to cover the expense of acquiring and directing the construction of the tunnels.
these tunnels are major gazan public works, and to look at them in any other way is idiocy.
in short, everyone in gaza knew about them, and a good deal of gaza was directly involved in the construction or facilitating the construction of the tunnels. and, where launch sites for the missiles were developed, all of the homes and structures near them were in effect integrated into the tunnels, and part of the gazan fortifications.
doubt that? you look at the pictures of "homes" destroyed by israeli bombings, and you will see civilian homes with as much concrete, rebar and steel in them as world war ii bunkers and gun emplacements. generally speaking, two story homes do not require 10 and 12" thick concrete walls, with steel beams.
everyone in gaza lived in a fortification, designed for defensive and offensive battle.
everyone in gaza knew it.
everyone in gaza helped build it.
palestinian kids: the future of terror. gaza is an armed camp.
and, the children are warriors in the fight against israel. it makes no difference that they may or may not understand entirely to what use they are put by their parents and elders, but that is the reality of the situation.
i suggest that you go to www.atlasshrugs2000.com, and read the extensive coverage pamela geller has devoted to the indoctrination of palestinian children over the years, through religious training, and "children's programming" on television. they are taught the hatred of jews, and they are taught that they will fight jews as young persons and adults.
"permanent war." lenin and the bolshevik theorists taught permanent revolution. so do the palestinians advocate permanent war against israel. there will never be any peace. not until the israelis are pushed into the sea. there is no accommodation for israel, only oblivion.
no such thing as a "noncombatant" to hamas/abbas/hezbollah. osama bin laden tried to extend his miserable stay on this orb by grabbing a wife and pulling her in front of him to use as a shield. it didn't do him much good, but he tried to sacrifice his wife to save his own hide.
islamic fundamentalists use children to fetch weapons, and to hide behind, in combat. simple fact.
abbas puts rocket launchers in hospitals, schools and at united nations facilities throughout the strip. they do so purposely and knowingly, to try and dissuade the israelis from striking those facilities in retaliation. abbas/hamas/hezbollah are absolutely indifferent to the risk of life in doing so.
if islam does not care about it's own civilians, indeed, if islam promotes the death of its own for purely political posturing and securing a leg up in the propaganda war, then why should israel take any measure to protect and exempt from the vicissitudes of war persons that abbas has made canon fodder. abbas has consigned its own to death, why should israel forebear from inflicting it?
summation. the concept of "noncombatants" in time of war makes some sense in the context of enemies who fight for political and geo-political & economic gains. the underlying assumption is one of future profit and continued societal activity. wars of recent vintage, as opposed to ancient wars, have not posited the total destruction of ones enemy.
this limitation does not apply to islam.
and, the reality of the situation is that not entire societies are subject to the effects of war, an assumption that has been stretched very far by the assumptions and conduct of world war ii, and the cold war. but, the concept was honored, even if sometimes more often in its breach than in its observance. they were, for example, no noncombatants at dresden, and hiroshima and nagasaki. and, no phone calls the evening before, telling people to get out of town.
but, within the context of gaza, there are absolutely no facts or doctrines which support treating any gazan as a noncombatant. the entire population is devoted to warfare against israel, and that includes the entire political, religious and war making aspects of society, which are a "unified field theory" within the teachings of islam.
in gaza, the entire exchequer, executive and pedagogical structure of the society is devoted to continuing efforts to make war upon israel.
forever. for as long as it takes to destroy her, and to impose her entire oblivion. forever.
for these reasons i think it nonsense for israel not to treat each and every inhabitant of gaza as a combatant, whether armed at the instance of attack or not. every man, woman and child in gaza is viewed by the gazan's as a warrior for islam, and subject to the strictures of waging war against israel.
these are the dictates and realities of islam.
it makes absolutely no sense for the israelis to treat the gazans any differently from how the gazans have defined themselves, in theory, by religion, and in political and military practice.
