anybody remember raili o'dinga.  ran for president of kenya.  lost.  his supporters immediately began burning christian churches with the christians inside.  o'dinga pledged to muslim politicians that he would make kenya a sharia state if islam supported him in the quasi civil war/riots that erupted after the election.

obama's cousin.  obama, while sitting as a united states senator, campaigned on the stump for o'dinga during the kenyan election campaign.  dick morris and obama advised o'dinga on election strategy, themes and right down to campaign imagery.  

o'dinga.  "progressive socialist."  also, pretty much a ruthless killer.  and, a friend, relative and associate of barack hussein obama.

charles johnson doesn't give a whit or a fig for me, doesn't care the weight of the proverbial mustard seed about me one way or the other.  no, the real purpose of his screed is to try and tar pamela geller by her association with me.  pamela geller is the target of the blog post at little green footballs, not i.  and, such is the measure of his worry over her prestige and influence, that he engages in this, ... , i don't know, ... , empty polemic, ... , nonsense, ... , to try and harm her.  you come up with a phrase, i am chuckling too hard to think of a good one.

he shan't touch her.  he shan't damage her.

he simply doesn't understand the strength of her appeal.  

it is simply this, charles.  she speaks and writes the truth, and she advocate it without apology or concession (to this sort of hysterical pap), and advocates to benefit those who do good in this evil old world.  charles, you might try it someday, though i suspect it quite beyond you.

first things first.--

1.)take out the talking head media, and burn the new york times, the los angeles times and the washington post to the ground.  draw and quarter the media, and shoot their remains from canons in the four directions of the prevailing winds.

rinse, lather, repeat as needed.

2.)take out all the incumbent leadership of both parties in the congress, and every self avowed socialist and communist in congress.  give them all proper muslim burials at sea, just like osama bin laden.

eliminate pensions for congressional service.  rinse, lather, repeat as needed.

3.)eliminate the faculty senates at harvard, yale, columbia, nyu and university of california at santa barbara.  boil bill ayers, bernie dorhn and angela davis in canola oil, and feed their remains to the fishes.

they are all physical cowards.  they should fall into line pretty quickly.  repeat every ten years as a prophylactic, on general principle.  

and, 

4.)now that the "arab spring" has brought enlightenment to the middle east, send all of the muslim immigrants back to their native countries, in boxes or tourist, their choice.

burn all the mosques.  period.

Words like "The Left" or "The Right" refer to movements not individuals; but the underlying concepts are what are important. And basic to that is honesty. Fact is there is nothing "Maoist" in Obama's speeches, and that is what i was referring to. The man is what would have been considered a Republican in the 1970's.

Fact is, "the left" is where the Republicans were during the Nixon administration as far as practical politicians are concerned.

Fact is that "government" is a function, and if we don't pay our elected officials to handle problems then someone else will step in to do that governance, and not in our interest. So your argument about what "government" will do is a bait and switch. Our choice is between letting rich and corporate bullyboys be the border, or finding a way to get control of our government and actually fix things. The only difference I see between left and right now is that the right doesn't seem interested in even trying to fix things.

It's not "The Left" that has to manage individual problems, it is our nation. And degrading "the left" for not being able to solve problems while blocking every effort is just treating national survival as a team sport.

What we need is something we used to call pragmatism. - it's the notion that human beings can solve any problem they can identify and analyze.

The idea that people can't solve problems is one that is anti-democratic, and while deeply conservative is also very much against the founding principles of this country. This attitude is what is sinking the country along with the idea that fighting over who controls the engine room is more important than avoiding the icebergs. One thing is sure, a person who lies about reality is a person who is putting on blinders and then going out for a stroll along a cliffside; or in this case stearing the Titanic.

as i read your screed, (and, as i comprehend it, which may be two different things), you seem interested in doing pragmatic things to right the course of the country, and you think that a focus on partisanship is not the right way to do that, to the extent it takes the eye off the prize. (a metaphor of mine, which doesn't mean anything, in particular.) which is to steer a proper course.

generally, they are ass holes and boobs just as the democrats.

but, the leftist are the shits that are more or less in charge at all levels of society and governance, and "independent" institutions such as the media and academia.
