let us just squarely address the silence of the "leaders" of christendom on the slaughter of christians generally, and specifically, the slaughter of christian celebrants during the high holy season, by islam, to advance the purposes of islam.
this failure of christian leaders, such as the pope and the arch bishop of canterbury, to address this issue is immoral, and it is sin. this craven silence, this eloquent indifference to the suffering of the faithful at the hands of islam is cowardice in the face of attack, and such cowardice is immoral in the extreme.
it is immoral because it only encourages and incites islam to further outrage, outrages, i would note, that are perpetrated against the lambs in the flock as opposed to being directed at its "shepards." it is one thing for the shepard to turn the other cheek to the ravening wolf, ... , that is a personal choice on the part of the shepard.
it is quite another matter for the shepard to stand idly by while the innocent lambs of the flock are slaughtered. and, it is a matter of added sin and guilt for the shepard to make the way to the flock easier for the wolf, and moreover, to encourage the wolf to continuing his ravening attacks by not loosening the hounds in protection of the flock.
to stand by mute while these attacks occur, is immoral and it is grave sin for the pope and the arch bishop to remain silent in the face of such outrage.
how do these cowards meet their maker, with faces downcast in shame for their inaction, for their silence, for their very complicity in trucking with islam?
were i pope, where i the arch bishop, i would count it better to meet my maker with the blood of my enemy on my hands for having defended my flock, than to come before my maker with the shattered corpses of the faithful in tow, and only the lame excuse of my cowardice to explain them.
i have set out the 23rd psalm below. i would ask you to remark upon the passage, "... i will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me ... " and to think upon it just for a moment. "thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." the passage does not say, "thy presence at my meek and unresisting death lends me grace and composure for thou art with me."
given the day, the only thing that would have armed a shepard for protecting his flock in any more formidable manner would have been a bow and arrow. the psalm, the prayer, contemplates that the shepard will step forward with force, and with confidence and moral suasion, to protect the lambs of his flock. no pacifist bullshit here, but a firm resolve and knowledge that god will protect his faithful with force.
too damn bad that the pope and the arch bishop cannot read, reflect and resolve to do the same with their faithful. too damn bad that the christians of the world are led by such useful tools, and will not resist islam. i have no pity for the pope and for the arch bishop, for their consignment to the lower pits of hell for their cowardice.
damn their eyes, who bear witness, and will not comprehend. it is willful immorality, and it is sin.

psalm 23, king james
1. the lord is my shepard; i shall not want.
2. he maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3. he restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4. yea, though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death, i will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5. thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; that anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6. surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and i will dwell in the house of the lord for ever.
And the specific sin committed by the so-called "leadership" is the deadly sin of Sloth - neglecting to do what one SHOULD be doing.
