so be it.
as a people we have surrendered our rule to an elite who have told us, we are academics, intellectuals and persons of highly refined sensibilities, and we will take care of you. it is for the better for all. and, it is proper that we should decide such matters for you.
we have been monumentally incompetent in surrendering freedom, right, privilege and prerogative to an academic and professional elite which gulled us with the prospect of security, and guaranteed plenty.
will, neither has occurred, has it? the following is not non sequitur.
name a fault, or even a mortal or a venal sin.--
pride. arrogance. arrogance. murder. sexual assault, or oppression. unbridled ambition. aloofness. appetite. appeasement. cowardice. intellectual cowardice. emotionalism. nepotism. aristocracy. cronyism. patronage. sloth. corruption. vice. dishonesty. lying. perpetuating falsehood. false portrayal. vacation excess.
the intellect is not less prone to these faults than any other human faculty, and perhaps more coldly capable of them, more coldly calculating, than pure passion or anger.
and the academy, and its "highest expression" in the form of science, once institutionalized and bureaucratized and affiliated with an agenda, is no less stupid or free of foible than any other human institution. if we have learned anything from the "global warming" hoax it is that scientists and academics in pursuit of notoriety, and government money, are willing to commit any sin to aggrandize themselves, and to perpetuate any lie to acquire the power to guide public policy.
in short, the worst qualities of the demagogic politician, including preying sexually on the acolytes, are the faults of the scientist. in order to achieve hegemony over industrial policy, the politicians and the scientists falsified the statistics and lied about their "science."
science, the academy, the media and all those other institutions, have simply become infected with the bacillus of leftist dogma.
and, we have given our lives and the regulation of our pursuits and even our ideas & intellects over to these poseurs who pretend ultimate knowledge and dispatch, and ultimate wisdom over such matters as our very lives and the conduct of our religion and family.
we have ceded the conduct of our lives, our liberties, to these fools. we very nearly gave these fools and charlatans absolute control of our economic lives, nearly surrendered our industry and participation in an open and free market (in both economics and ideas) to these fools at copenhagen. it was only by the virtue of a computer hacker who revealed the fraud of the english university perpetuating this grab to power, who revealed the fraud and the dummying up of statistics, and the destruction of statistics and data which did not support the "theory," that western industrial policy did not come under the absolute control of the united nations and its third world bureaucracy.
we have been monumentally incompetent.
we continue in this path.
we have been reduced to the point that the only way in which we can wrest control of our lives back is through deliberate policies of violence and rebellion and upheaval.
yes, so bet it.
as mr. asimov has said, "violence is the last refuge of the incompetent."
it is the last refuge of our freedom. of our liberty. of adherence to our ancient right at freeborn men and women.
our ideas were the sun light and heat that powered the greatest flowering of human intellect and thought, and universal progress for the benefit of all mankind, literally world transforming events, over the last 6 or 700 years of human history. free market doctrine, the emergence of the middle classes, and the intellectual ferment that at once spawned and fed this phenomena, now are at perilous risk.
by our incompetence, by the ceding of our powers and right to this pack of self serving, self perpetuating, fools we call the "intelligentsia." well, they are anything but that.
that are as venal and corrupt and decadent as any other "-ism" spawned by man.
our last best hope is to wrest power away from them. and, the only means which we have left available to ourselves would seem to be violence.
yes, mr. asimov was right, "violence is the last refuge of the incompetent."

p.s. i am quite fond of mr. asimov's writings. as he was enormously fond of irony and paradox, and the fact that things and people often turned on themselves. he never emphasized it, but mr. asimov also must have been an incredibly well read historian.
he said, nothing succeeds like success, and nothing fails like success. he was not being flip.
he also said a couple of other things, which we all should keep in mind, as we contemplated riding the wild whirlwind.--
says salvor hardin of the foundation, "an atomic blaster is a good weapon, but it can point both ways."
and, this, "now any dogma, based primarily upon faith and emotionalism, is a dangerous weapon to use on others, since it is almost impossible to guarantee that the weapon will never be turned on the user." mr. asimov almost always counseled prudence.
yes, prudence "dictates" that such matters not be undertaken for light and transient reasons. but, when a long train of abuses impels free men to act in order to preserve those freedoms, nor should such things be shirked from. and, as far as beginning such an undertaking, better to shoulder the responsibility for it in one's own time, then to pass it along to one's posterity, when the chances for its success may be a good deal less.
better to strike, as they say, when the iron is hot. as the son of a blacksmith, ..., yes, the literal truth, i grew up around the forge, the 8 pound sledge and the anvil, upon which the hot steel was formed, ... , it is indeed best to strike when the iron is hot, when passion and resolve will secure the undertaking.
but, it is also prudent to keep mr. asimov clearly in mind, and in view.
