he was just wrong. you cannot spend more than you have, and get away with it. oh, you can for a while, even a good long while, but it cannot go on forever.
as the greeks have proven. as the russians proved recently, before going on a nice recovery thanks to oil and gas positioned nicely for delivery to resource-less europe.
and, as spain and ireland are likely to prove in the not-so-distant future.
and, as england and the united states shall prove relatively-soon after spain and ireland take the euro union into the toilet. as a matter of fact obama takes the u.s. down the same path as the idiot greek prime minister, and at a far greater break neck speed. no president in u.s. history has spent like obama, even while his sources of revenue dry up as a maltreated economy falters.
who is to blame? well, as walt kelley's pogo once proclaimed coming back from a war expedition across the swamp, "we have met the enemy, and he is us." in obama's case, we elected the stupid son of a bitch twice, knowing full well his promises were bull shit. people are very delusional in the face of failure.
there is not a thinking person on earth willing to confront truth who cannot figure out what happens to a nation, a society, or a person which/who outspends its resources and earning capacity past the point of ever being able to repay the debt with which he has burdened himself, or his country. "may the chains sit comfortably across your shoulders," indeed.
the united states and england shall go down the toilet of economic collapse pretty soon. both countries spend as if there is no tomorrow, burdening tax payers with obligations which can never be met. all at the demand of the taxpayers, by the way, who continue to deceive themselves that you can get something for nothing, especially when the "rich" are paying for it. what fucking idiocy. we ran out of "rich" a long time ago, we ran out of the ability of the fabulous "rich" to pay for our delusions.
we shall fail. just as greece.
of course, none of you wish to hear this. so you will not. this i know.
so, i speak to those few of you who have enough sense to see what is coming, so that you might take your money out of these failed & failing delusions of john maynard keynes, so that you may have enough to provide for you and your children during the collapse of two great nations.
which, who should have, might have, known better.
