“nothing we’re going to do is going to fundamentally alter or eliminate the possibility of another mass shooting or guarantee that we will bring gun deaths down to 1,000 a year from what it is now,” [biden] told the group of reporters.
“but there are things that we can do, demonstrably can do, that have virtually zero impact on your second amendment right to own a weapon for both self defense and recreation that can save some lives,” he said. http://freedomoutpost.com/2013/02/joe-biden-gun-control-laws-wont-work-but-weve-got-to-do-something/#ixzz2JlZiW7oU
in short, biden said that neither congress nor the states could prevent the illegal use of firearms by criminals and the criminally insane. but, what he said in effect, is that we will take guns from law abiding citizens and those who otherwise do not violate gun laws, with impunity.
truth be told, what biden said is that we cannot do much about criminals, but we can disarm our political opposition and remove their one great tool to oppose our tyranny. he mentioned the parts about the second amendment preventing congress and the executive from impinging upon hunting and self protection rights, but, oddly enough, forgot about the part that gun ownership stands as the great barrier to political tyranny. hmm, ... , whadda ya s'pose that means?
that's what he said.
you figure it out.

Glad to read you're feeling better. Hope you continue to recover your strength.
An interesting read, and pretty much validates general suspicion regarding gun-control attempts are not focused on removing them from hands of criminals as much as disarmming the non-criminal population. The general feeling I have is that these politicians' and supporting groups' are more fearful of an armed citizenry than armed criminals. I believe the reason for this fear is a lawabiding publis represents a greater direct threat to uber-liberal agengs to gaining total political power.

This piece seems to go hand-in-hand with the Biden piece.

For brevity, I won't cut and paste the article into TypePad. Just when you thought it safe to get back into the water, more glimpses of what's lurking below the water-line. Dont blow a gasket with this but it needs to be read and digested.

stanley kubrick, "a clockwork orange," based on the great sci-fi/political novel.
great movie. prophetic. yes, they fear us more than the criminals.

p.s. rod, i've written exhaustively on obama's "civilian national security force," and was one of the first to do so.
i've published an analysis of obama's colorado springs speach at least three time.
you can google it. been there, seen that, done that, and no one paid a damn bit of attention.
my writing has been linked many times on that subject. bloggers read it, no one else did.
if someone else garners it, more power to them.
i used to write long analysis/articles, laden with factual reporting. bored people to tears. i just got tired of being ignored, i guess. i am ignored now, for the most part, but, i don't work so hard at it.
