Another YT popped-up after that one titled, "MSG Roy Benavidez speech 1991" wherein he said (@ 23:05 and after): "For those who have fought for it Life has a special flavor The Protected will never know. You have never lived until you've almost died."
I believe the same can be said - while not to the same extent of course - about those (myself included) who are WILLING to FIGHT for their and other innocents' lives. This "difference" in our current "Nation of Cowards" is a Grand Canyon of a divide and helps me understand why some folks will just never "get it."
