i always like harlon carter, a past president of the n.r.a., who spoke directly but with a certain rhetorical flourish. he was stocky, bull necked and belligerent, and he got his point across, and with a certain amount of conviction.

but, let us get down to brass tacks on this gun control thing, which obama "the pretender" will be calling for, standing upon the graves of the children killed in connecticut.--
let me ask you, whether you would rather go through each day bearing the risk that someone will fire a weapon at you in a place where people gather in crowds (a target rich environment for lunatics), or whether you wish to live in a society where a collectivist repressive political regime has the monopoly on weapons (a environment rich in lunatic political zealots, armed to the teeth.)
for, make no mistake about it. if obama moves for a restriction on weapons, or confiscation of the same, that move will be directed against you, and the public you belong to. that move will not be directed towards the legions of the federal government, the state governments, the county and municipal forces who shall all be bearing arms. nor will it be directed against those persons who number in obama's personal security forces .... barack hussein obama and his minions will not be unarmed.
the "disarmament" that obama is going to call for is not a bilateral disarmament, in which the federal and state police agencies will give up a gun for every gun given up by law abiding citizens. no, it will be a unilateral disarmament in which you give up your guns, while the federal agencies expand, armed to the teeth, to regulate the taking of weapons. you wanna bet?

as for me, i will gladly accept the minuscule risk that i will be attacked in public by a deranged mental patient, as opposed to being unarmed against the repressive array of governmental agents who have the exclusive monopoly on arms.

compared to, ... , fill in the name of any mass killer. and, then think of the untold millions who have died directly at the hand of government and its agents in the past 200 years, as opposed to "killers." compared to politicians, mass murders are "pikers."
to me, the choice is clear.
i will take my chances any day against the lunatics of the world, as opposed to the zealots w/ a monopoly on force. and, a monopoly in the employ of thugs. you think the s.e.i.u. thugs who beat up on grandma's at polling booths are gonna be any more polite when they are the only ones to have guns? convince me. i don't think you can.
