apologia: i make no apology for not using caps. i am abjectly apologetic, however, for the hash the format of this post is at the end. i have been using computers for 35 years, way before many of you were born. and, never have i used anything so unresponsive to the helm as the word processor that typepad foists upon subscribers to their blog service. it makes me so mad that i could chew 16-penny nails into dust. *sigh* my sincere apologies. john.
let's just call them denny and kenny.
we were having breakfast at "a wee bit o' heather's" this morning. actually, kenny and i were having breakfast and denny stopped in for his mid-morning-the-oatmeal-just-doesn't-hold-me snack, english muffin and coffee.
liberals despise people like denny and kenny, and think that because they are no strangers to sweat and dust that they don't know anything. and, so it is with conservative intellectuals, who also do not feel that people who, ... , well, work for a living, can have the same sophisticated understanding of things as they.
intellectuals, liberal and conservative alike, simply cannot bring themselves to either believe or understand that "ordinary people" can have any sort of sophisticated grasp of the issues of the day, and that it must be explained for them. in simple terms. and, that it must be understood by the lumpenproletariat that we are dependent upon intellectuals for our understanding of the world, ... , here east of the cascades, we simple agrarian types, sturdy yeomen and all that, are treated to endless discourse on public radio & t.v. by people with british accents, and real snooty attitudes. it's worse than going to a french restaurant in spokane and having to listen to some twit pretend that he speaks french when he gives the dinner special to you.
say what you will, but george will has a lot more in common with cokie roberts and same donaldson and that pipsqueak little jerk who used to work for the clintons and is now a talking head for the net works: he is as much a cossack as any liberal when it comes to the lumpenproletariat. and, they all believe, conservative and liberal alike, that it is only proper that they inform the less gifted than themselves what happened this day in afghanistan.
even john bolton, as much as i like him, has forgotten from whose loins he sprang, and from whom he learned before society took over the task. a pity, that.
denny and kenny are not buying the bullshit that obama and the networks and the media are pitching about the liberal agenda. they know wreckers when they see them, and both are in steadfast agreement that the democrats and the liberals wish to drive the united states economy into the ground, the easier to take control of the country. they know cloward & piven when they see them.
they also know that the obama administration is trying to use the united nations to infringe upon our gun rights, and they understand that they are not told the truth by the media.
how do i know these things? because i am so fucking smart? no, it's because i eat breakfast with denny and kenny quite a bit, and i listen to what they say.
and, i am telling all you smart folks out there as a fellow certified and degreed smart guy, that kenny and denny have a far more sophisticated understanding of the way things she is done in this country than you would ever suspect.
and, since the lamestream media ain't "telling" them what to think, i have to conclude that they arrive at these opinions after their own considered judgment and evaluation of things.
kenny is retired. he likes to compete in informal rodeo events, and ropes off his horse. i do not mean that he segregates his horse, but that he rides him, and from atop the horse he ropes calves and the like. for the fun of it.
denny is a contractor, and has some rentals. he and kenny were talking this morning about the fact that denny is driving to bismark, north dakota to do some sheetrock taping for a contractor friend. we were all talking of the oil boom there, and denny was saying that skilled labor is so short, so hard to come by for employers, that the wages are tremendously high for such work.
denny is going to drive from eastern oregon to north dakota to take advantage of that.
each of them has been in business for a long time, and they know the difference between a well managed economy and the hash that this country is in right now. and, they understand in their hearts that this hash is being purposefully made by someone to secure their own political advantage at the expense of the american people.
they have concluded that that someone is obama, and his henchmen.
they both believe that the upcoming presidential election is going to be very close, an assessment that i share. (b.a. in political science, don't you know.) they are worried what will happen if the authorities come for our guns.
i talk with other people. people who were raised up in the pacific northwest, who are of the opinion that the lumpenproletariat doesn't trust its political leadership and its law enforcement as far as they can throw them, ... , and who believe that any attempt to take our guns from us will be forcibly resisted. "shoot the bastards" is a phrase i hear often these days. from people who are not given to hyperbole.
well, what are we to do? as lenin asked, "what's to be done?"
hillary clinton and obama want to enter into an unholy treaty with the united nations regarding international gun trading, which will seriously infringe upon private ownership and possession of guns. if they say different, they are lying. you can be sure that kenny and denny understand this, entirely.
the obama administration is also in unholy league with a united nations treaty which will limit speach and the expression of ideas on the internet. can talk radio be far behind?
