the euro union has gone nuts. officially.
they just gave the greeks $43 billion to help them pay the euro union a $43 billion debt, so as to avoid a pending default, and, then gave them another $130 billion to help them be more financially responsible.
"it is to laugh, it is to cry." bugs bunny, carrot loving philosopher, commenting on the human condition. (and, euro union financial acumen. oh, yeah.)
update, 02.21.2012. take about 10 of your hard earned euro's, wad them up, and flush them down the toilet, as a symbolic joining with the euro union bureaucrats. then, watch this link, http://edition.cnn.com/interactive/2012/02/world/interactive.greek.voices/index.html , and understand why the greeks will never pay a dime of their obligations.
they are simply too used to living off the euro tit, to put the matter bluntly.
watch the woman named "aggelike grevia," as she explains in classic marxist double speak why she has no responsibility to pay a dime of any of the debt, and why the greeks have been exploited by the capitalists, in receiving all this money and then being expected to pay it back.
the euro union will not receive a dime from the greeks. the greek government will fall (actually, it will just lie down in feigned resignation, before any is paid, and the succeeding greek government will repudiate the debt.
bets? end update.
they steer the ship of state, just about as ably as they steer ships.

p.s. oh, yes, the greeks having rioted a bit, having thrown some hissy fits, get their money. that'll teach 'em. i bet everybody in greece goes to work, and is on time, tomorrow. eh? anyone taking bets?
143,000,000,000 versus 0.
0 being the amount of money the euro union will be paid back, and the number of "thank you's" from the greek people to the rest of europe. the greeks know chumps when they see them.
and, the amount of money private bond holders will be paid on their investments. they've already been discounted 51%.
how many of you going out to buy greek bonds tomorrow morning? just askin'. just askin'.
