civil war in syria moves off "simmer," and is passing "low" to "medium" very quickly.  it would appear that the lid is coming off and soon.  

update, 02.11.2012.  now tanks, laying direct fire in syrian neighborhoods in homs, and the violence spreading into lebanon.  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46351170/ns/world_news-mideast_n_africa/#.TzdGL8V-wTY .  people shooting back at government forces, and a syrian general assassinated in damascus.  end update.  p.s.  sorta looks like civil war, eh?  hint.--  the west will get into it.  assad is a dead duck.  he hasn't quite figured it out yet.  nuther p.s.  somebody break the news, gently, to barbara walters.  maybe during coffee and crullers on "the view," eh?

update, 02.08.2011.  this, on the escalating attacks by the regime against protesters.  http://worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/02/08/10352941-mood-of-despair-as-syria-bombards-city-of-homs-for-5th-day .  it is not yet civil war, as the opposition does not have the throw weight to go against the regime.  they must die, apparently, to gain defectors who bring heavy weapons with them, which seems to be the paradigm in the middle east.  end update.

ah, the "arab spring" continues to sweep the region.  the middle ages, from which islam has never emerged, reassert themselves with a vengeance.  the muslim brotherhood will let those who wish freedoms to do the dirty work and the dying, and shall then assume control and solidify the hold of islam when the dying is done.

so it has been elsewhere, and so it shall be in syria.  the chinless one is toast.
