if it appears an inevitable imperative that it comes to this, then why shy from it.
what's to change an inevitable?
mini-update: why deny the logical imperative of what you write? why deny the logical imperative of what you believe? and, why oh why, deny the logical imperative of what the other fellow writes and believes? why forget it, when trouble looms? why deny what the other fellow intends for you, what he thinks and what he has written? and your fellows? marx. lenin. marcuse. alinsky. the frankfurt school. the imam. ayatollah. a thousand clerics calling for your blood. and entire generation of euro leftist terrorist thugs. why? why fucking forget, indeed? history owes no apologies for its thoughts. end mini-update.
they reap what they have sown.

.... perhaps you will see in this country the profusion of road blocks, run by men in tattered canvas shoes and automatic weapons.
ever wonder why there is plenty of resource to buy guns and ammo, but no one can afford shoes, in these situations?

economic catastrophe seems to me inevitable in the united states, and severe dislocation in all the economies of the world.
the goose that laid the golden eggs has had its neck wrung, and is in its death throes.
the only solution perceived to the debt crises that bedevil world governments, by those who run those governments, is to try to pay that debt with money that is ever more worthless.
it is simple economics. double the supply of a commodity like money, with no corresponding doubling of productivity, and the money is worth one half of its former worth. so, you can print all you want, but worthless money does not pay the bills.
we have become, in essence, a banana republic. a big one. but, one that cannot pay its bills or meet its obligations. and, we are led by idiots.
a hidden "cost" in all of this, the destruction of an entire middle class pool of savings, its value devastated by the idiots in washington d.c. coupled with the outright theft of that wealth and its "transfer" to the lower classes and blacks in particular with the mortgage scandals, and the talent that managed and drove an industrial colossus has been stripped of the payment and reward for its hard work and vision.
it is my view that the left did this on purpose, with a direct view towards accomplishing just what it has wrought. it runs things now, all right, but at the cost of running a moribund economy, and a depressed society.
i wonder how much the jerk in the white house will spend celebrating his birth day as he flushes this country down the toilet. buy the son of a bitch a fiddle, ... , if the chinese will sell us one.

friends:
i am not very enthusiastic about the social policies advocated by the obama regime, and am just a bit dubious about its geo-political and geo-strategic, ... , well, stratagems works about as well as any word.
i am still rather inclined to resolve such differences at the ballot box. we'll see.
but, ... .
i paid income taxes to the state of oregon, and to the federal government, and social security withholding to the latter, pretty faithfully for 45 years, plus some: the last 16 or 17 years or so of my "economic" life, i paid 15% of my income into social security, as i was self employed. i have worked, and worked damned hard, for nearly fifty years.
and, this day i am aggravated, nay, you could say that i am sorely aggrieved, because my social security retirement check has not arrived in the mail on time. i depend on that check, as illness and a couple three really bad economic decisions have left me without cash resource, or income.
i do not know how much i have paid in on income taxes and social security withholding. i do know that i receive $1447 a month from social security in "return." and, now the combined resources of the social security administration and the united states post office cannot get me the fucking check on time.
i consider the government of the united state of america to be in breach of its social, moral, political and legal obligations to me, ... , obligations by the way that i had no hand in shaping, but which were imposed upon me, and "for" which i have paid the government handsomely over the years.
if i find out that the social security administration is jacking the public around on obama's threat to withhold benefit payments beginning in august if a resolution to his liking on the debt ceiling issue is not reached, ... , just so we get the message, well then i am gonna be fucking fried.
"you realize of course, that this means war," was bugs bunny's tag line when aggrieved. i have not declared war on the government of the u.s.a., not just yet.
stayed tuned.
the government will find that i can be very non-compliant if my chain is yanked. it's feeling pretty tight right now.

this article, to me, is not about simply building brand affinity, though i suppose to some flinty eyed accountant somewhere, green viser bent over the ledger sheets, it is.
it is about a little boy growing up, and an old man rather enjoying the view.
cameron and i share the same neighborhood, though i do not have the run of it like he does.-- just something about a 5 year old running across your yard being cute, while a 63 year old with a goatee and a wild look in his eye, isn't.
cameron owns a bicycle, which is likely to be just about anywhere over the course of a day. look up out your kitchen window, and there cameron is, flaunting bounds and limits, with a little grin on his face. oh,yeah, he knows what he is doing.
cameron also drives a little 4-wheeler, electric powered, reverse and 2 gears, and those little plastic wheels that the 3-wheelers had, that sound like someone is holding a garbage can over your head and beating it with a shovel when they run down the asphalt. he likes to drive it everywhere, too, and he likes to give the little girls rides in it.
you gotta love the kid.
some of the places he likes to drive include my driveway, and my lawn, and my little stump excavation that i am making into a flower garden, nasturtiums so far, roses in a little bit. cameron asked after them, and i explained to him that they hadn't flowered yet, and might not if he runs over them. so, we discussed it, he asked politely where i had planted, i showed him, and he asked if whether he could drive on the dirt where i hadn't planted, and then delineated just where he would drive and where he wouldn't. we struck the accord.
pretty damned decent of him, i thought.
just like when i was growing the lawn this spring from seed, i asked cameron and curtiss not to walk on it, until the grass was big enough to protect itself, and the ground solid enough to resist their feet and bicycle tires. every now and again little faces would appear at my door at the knock, and they would inquire, "john, can we walk on your grass." one morning, i simply said, "yes."
well, all this is besides the point.
the point of all this is the look on cameron's face when he drives his little 4-wheeler with its rumbling plastic wheels. he sits up straight, both hands on the steering wheel, and he has the look of pleasure and contentment a man, lord of all he surveys, at one with himself and his world as he essays it.
it is priceless.
i would not take that look off of his face for all the nasturtium's and roses in the world.

i read theo spark's blog, www.theospark.net.
his blog has pretty girls, airplanes, articles on military and geo-strategic considerations, and links very interesting posts. what's not to like.
and, just every now and again, theo will link something of mine if it is of interest. so again, what's not to like?
just now i was reading an article linked at theo spark from pajama's media, "somali-americans from minnesota leave to wage jihad with al-shabaab terror group," written by patrick poole and posted 07.13.2011. http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/somali-americans-from-minnesota-leave-to-wage-jihad-with-al-shabaab-terror-group/ . in this article, the author recounts that a woman journalist, a kenyan named fatuma noor, has been keeping track of somali-americans from minnesota being recruited into the al-shabaab terror group working in somalia.
this is interesting, it is recounted in an interesting manner, though the subject matter should hardly prove shocking or surprising to anyone following the blogs with any attention to such matters. i have read of such things at atlas shrugs, jihad watch, yidwithlid and theo spark's often enough to be reasonably aware that this is happening. it takes no special virtue or diligence to be aware of such things, if you read the blogs.
it is at this juncture it is appropriate to quote briefly from the post, (which i recommend you read in full at pajama's or at theo's link):
"This week I called several FBI field offices that regularly handle Somali-related terrorism issues. I was told by one official, 'This is the first we’re hearing about it.'
Another official said that this news 'represents a complete and utter breakdown in our outreach to the Somali community':
To have even more of these kids leave the country right under our noses without a word from the people we are working with who are supposed to be our eyes and ears means that all of this outreach over the past few years is a total failure. It doesn’t help that those we are working with are the ones recruiting these kids to go fight. … Everyone in the Muslim community and mainstream media who vilified [Rep.] Peter King and the House Homeland Security Committee who tried to look into this problem owe them a major apology.'"
update: see this related post at atlas shrugs, posted this day, http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2011/07/somali-terror-group-linked-to-al-qaeda-recruited-21-young-muslms-in-minnesota.html . i say again, that it is absolutely incredible that the f.b.i. does not know more about this, ... , they have to be absolutely the last to have learned about what is/has beeb fairly well known in the blogs, for quite a while now.
and, is there any doubt that keith ellison is not an apologist for jihad? end update @ 07.16.2011.
that the the f.b.i. might not know about 10 somalis leaving minnesota to join the jihad is not amazing, it simply acknowledges that as a matter of fact keeping track of people and gathering intel in a country of some 330 some odd million people is tough.
"this news represents a complete and utter breakdown in our outreach to the somali community."
this is the thing that i consider utter stupidity, for the f.b.i. to even think that such a thing as "outreach" to the muslim somali community in minnesota is even possible is naive and total ignorant in the face of the 1400 year history of islam. the level of cupidity this statement represents is staggering.
and, then, the very self same speaker goes on to explain why it is so incredibly stupid for the f.b.i. as an institution to ever dream, in its wildest dreams, that "outreach" to islam is possible.
note what the speaker says: 1.)it doesn't help that the f.b.i. is working with the persons recruiting these kids to jihad, 2.)the people who are the "eyes" and "ears" of the f.b.i.'s "outreach" and intel haven't said a word to the f.b.i. about it, ... , surprise, surprise, surprise, since they are the ones recruiting the kids to jihad, and since the minnesota islamic community is raising money to send them there, and 3.)the stupid dumb bastard, ... , i apologize to the guy's mom & dad, it wasn't their intent to raise a dullard concrete post, ... , expects the somali community, ... , think about it, the community recruiting the kids to jihad and subsidizing it, ... , this dullard expects the somali community to apologize to representative peter king.
do you sense a disconnect here? one is inspired to say, "fucking duh!!! fucking duh!!!"
given all of these things, as enumerated by the f.b.i. agent quoted by poole, and the f.b.i. thinks that there is going to be an "outreach" to an islamic community from somali inculcated from birth with islamic doctrines of jihad?
goodness. goodness gracious, sakes alive. what won't they dream up next?
what fucking planet are these people from? i am sorry, i have lapsed into profanity once again, ... , but somehow, it seems just a little lacking in juice to write, "it strains credulity to believe these people cannot see the realities here."
the reality, is that there is never going to be "outreach" to islamic communities who provide fighters/recruits to the jihad.
what does it take to get this reality through the concrete heads who run the f.b.i., apparently from top to bottom.
as my intellectual hero and mentor bugs bunny is wont to say, "it is to laugh, it is to cry." how damned stupid, credulous, and cupid can these people be. i ask the question. and, i will bet you dimes to donuts, that the leaders of the somali expat community in minnesota, you know, the "eyes" and "ears" of the f.b.i., you know, the same one who recruit islamic youth to the jihad, sit around and scratch their nut sacks, sip their coffee, and ask the same questions before they fall on the floor, laughing their asses off.
i wonder how much these "eyes" and "ears" are paid for their intelligence services, ... , while they recruit for the jihad in somalia. does this not mean that the f.b.i. aids and abets in jihad recruitment? does it not mean that? you tell me that it doesn't mean that the f.b.i. subsidizes the jihad if they are in fact paying these "eyes" and "ears," and folks, they are in fact paying these "eyes" and "ears." dollars to donuts.
john jay @ 07.15.2011
p.s. is it "intel" if a kenyan woman journalist, if patrick poole from pajama's media, if john jay in milton freewater, oregon knows about a subject like jihad recruitment in minnesota before the f.b.i. with all its "eyes" and "ears" tumbles to it? somehow, in this context, "intelligence" is just not the first word that springs to my mind.
is it the first word that occurs to you?
if nothing else, why don't these dumb assed f.b.i. agents just read the damned funny papers, and glance at the blogs over coffee and crullers. (i recommend atlas shrugs, theo spark, jihad watch, yidwithlid as first stops.) the silly bastards might learn something, even if just by accident. sheesh.

this article http://www.ekurd.net/mismas/articles/misc2011/7/state5262.htm posted at theo spark's blog, http://www.theospark.net/ , illustrates quite clearly what happens when a chickenshit neophyte occupies the white house, and directs the foreign policy and military of our country.
this is also what happens when the mass media of a country, ours, in this particular case, is so thoroughly in the back pocket of the aforementioned chickenshit that they will not report such things. now, if you are similarly disposed to the aforementioned chickenshit and his chickenshit allies in the press/media, this will not seem like such a big g_d damned deal to you.
but, to my way of thinking, it is a big g_d damned deal when the little tin pot dictator of iran enters into such a provocation while we are in iraq, and while we are aiding by treaty obligation and agreement the formally recognized leadership and government of iraq.
for you see, what iran has done is to invade the territory of an allied foreign nation where we have troops stationed and deployed. that, to my way of thinking, is a big g_d damned deal, even if the chickenshit commander in chief cannot seem to get to excited about the whole thing.
that is why he is a chickenshit, kapish? and, that is also illustrative of how he is in the front pocket of every repressive muslim dictator on the face of the earth, fondly fondly the cock and ball set of each such aforementioned tin pot dictator: just as you might expect the operative of the o.i.c. to behave. the good little tool, out fondling the tools of all the other good little tools. the chickenshit neophyte, who runs our country, is a despicable idiot. and, did i mention, he is also chickenshit.
now, do you understand?

12th update: 07.06.2012: obama and holder didn't know about "fast and furious?" what utter bullshit.
this link to a post at rush linbaugh's site. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2012/07/02/obama_contributor_who_ran_fast_and_furious_was_also_behind_the_1994_assault_weapons_ban
from the july 2, 2012 edition of "the rush linbaugh show" blog, www.rushlinbaugh.com, comes this article exposing the role of obama operative dennis k. burke, who ran "fast and furious" in arizona while u.s. attorney there, after working on obama's campaign, and after being part of the u.s. senate staff instrumental in drafting/crafting the assault weapons ban of 1994. obama and holder didn't know about "fast and furious?" it wasn't part of a scheme to leverage gun control legislation in this country? again, what utter bullshit.
end update.
11th update: 12.29.2011. "fast and furious" linked to deal between u.s. justice department and a mexican drug cartel. a defendant in an illinois federal district courtroom has filed discovery demands with the justice department, for the department to release documents (e.g., provide to the defendant upon "discovery") that would prove his assertion that he is immune from prosecution for drug trafficking, because his crime organization was extended immunity from prosecution in exchange for providing information on other cartels/syndicates/gangs/what have you. he asserts that part of the quid pro quo to this was the receipt of weapons from "fast and furious." http://cnsnews.com/news/article/fast-and-furious-linked-immunity-deal-between-us-and-sinaloa-cartel-trafficking . end update.
10th update, 12.08.2011: holder and obama intended to use the sale of the guns shunted off to mexican drug dealers as a pretext to impose more gun regulations, ... , all, of course, without telling anyone that the federal government was the "smuggler" transporting guns into mexico. read all about it, here, http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31727_162-57338546-10391695/documents-atf-used-fast-and-furious-to-make-the-case-for-gun-regulations/ .
hat tip, from me, to ron fortier. ron wrote me that rush l. is calling the above post, issuing from cbsnews, as a "random act of journalism." that's pretty funny. end update.
9th update: this post, from "fausta's blog," reports the finding by a united states federal district court grand jury indictment, that the weapons used to kill border patrol brian terry on dec. 10, 2011 were sold via "straw man purchase" to mexican nationals involved in drug trafficking, through the "fast and furious" program run by a.t.f. the rifles were purchased in a glendale, arizona gun shop, and a.t.f. and the federal government knew that the sales were illegal, an that the guns would find their way into the hands of drug runner. http://wintersoldier2008.typepad.com/summer_patriot_winter_sol/2011/11/brian-terry-killed-by-mexicans-armed-by-f-f-fast-furious-hunting-for-us-border-patrol-faustas-blog-.html . friends, it simply doesn't get any dumber than that. end 9th update.
8th update: i suspect impeachment proceedings are in the offing for attorney general of the united states, eric holder, and for the president of the united states, barack "the one & true hussein" obama. http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2011/10/direct-evidence-holder-lied-bragged-about-project-gunrunner-in-mexico-in-2009.html#comment-6a00d8341c60bf53ef0154360f7565970c . pamela geller did not break this story, others uncovered and brought project "gun runner" to the fore where the lamestream media is finally starting to cover it, and where a congressman (rep. darrell issa) has discovered "gold in them thar hills." but, go to pamela's post, as it is an excellent compendium of the story, and also contains a very lengthy link to "sipsey street irregulars," who broke the story and have been at its forefront.
this, at "sipsey street," http://sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com/2011/10/holder-ridge-defenses-overrun-holder.html . holder is burnt toast, and obama's buns are going to be toasting pretty quickly. end update, 10.11.2011.
7th update: congressman paul goser, r-arizona, is of the opinion that attorney general eric holder and others may face criminal responsibility as accessories for the violent crimes suffered by victims of guns put into the possession of the mexican drug cartels by "gun runner." this, posted at "hot air" by tina korbe on 10.05.2011, http://hotair.com/archives/2011/10/05/congressman-with-fast-and-furious-administration-officials-might-be-accessories-to-murder/ . the post speaks for itself, and it should be making president obama and att. gen. holder extremely nervous. end update, 10.06.2011.
6the update: this from the dallas morning news website, http://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/editorials/20110819-editorial-details-only-get-worse-from-atfs-fast-and-furious-fiasco.ece , at dallasnews.com. if a tree falls in the forest, and the mainstream media does not report it, does that mean that barack obama gets away with murder? yes, it is precisely what it means. end 6th update: 08.20.2011.
5th update: dea admits involvment in "fast and furious." what next, the dept. of education? this story, posted 08.08.2011 by bob ownes of pajama's media, http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/gunwalker-drug-enforcement-agency-admits-involvement/ , notes that the head of the dea in response to congressional inquiry, admits dea involvment in the "gun runner" operation, a/k/a "fast and furious." success has many fathers, and in this instance, abject disaster seems to have involved a lot of pricks as well. end update: 08.08.2011.
4th update: feds watched as convicted felons made multiple purchases of weapons. it is, of course, against the law under federal and state statutes for persons who have been convicted of either state or federal felonies, and some domestic abuse and alcohol related misdemeanors, to purchase or possess firearms. yet it appears well established that federal authorities watched and witnessed several know felons purchase firearms during operation "fast and furious."
this article at fox news, "feds silent on how convicted felons bought guns in operation 'fast and furious'", (hat tip theo spark, http://theospark.net), http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/07/25/feds-refuse-to-explain-why-proper-background-checks-werent-conducted-on-fast/ , details how well known felons purchased firearms even after the dealer made the required legal inquiry of the federal government on buyer eligibility.
this quote, from the article, just about explains it all:
"You cannot sanction the violation of federal law by enabling or co-enabling prohibited persons, which includes felony convictions, from purchasing firearms," said Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., a former federal prosecutor and a member of the House Government Oversight and Reform Committee, which is investigating the botched ATF operation. Gowdy said he would discuss the apparent violation with committee chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif.
When asked about the breakdown, Stephen Fischer, a spokesman for the NICS System, said the FBI had no comment. However, an ATF agent who worked on the Fast and Furious investigation, told Fox News that NICS officials called the ATF in Phoenix whenever their suspects tried to buy a gun. That conversation typically led to a green light for the buyers, when it should have stopped them.
The apparent corruption of the system concerns Gowdy. "It is unconscionable and goes beyond just being a terribly ill-conceived investigation to bordering, if not crossing, into criminal activity," he said.
well, fucking duh!!!
this "operation," called "fast and furious" was ordered by barack obama and eric holder. they are politically and legally responsible for it. simple as that. end update: 07.26.2011.

3rd update: it just keeps getting worse. hat tp to carolyn at uncoverage. well, it just keeps getting worse.
guns from a "gunwalker" operation out of texas are implicated in the murder & attempted murder of two american i.c.i. agents outside of mexico city on february 15 of this year. the murder & assault were carried out by members of a mexican drug cartel, with at least one weapon identified in a straw man purchase as part of the "gunwalker" scheme. the purchasers were well known to the mental giants running this operation. the details are at pajama's media, the article, "'gunwalker' deepens: agent zapata killed by gun from ... texas," posted july 12, 2011 and authored by bob owens. http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/%E2%80%98gunwalker%E2%80%99-deepens-agent-zapata-killed-by-gun-from-%E2%80%A6-texas/?singlepage=true .
i started this post mere days ago with this short observation, below, about a post at the sipsey street regulars about "gunwalker," a/k/a "fast and furious:"
"seems like the department of justice is trying to put the mafia out of business. as competitors running guns to the mexican cartel, not as cops trying to interdict drugs from mexico. you suppose eric holder is working on commission? stupid bastards."
i see mounting evidence that my observations were, ... , well, absolutely correct. given the youtube revelation below that barack obama and eric holder directed this nonsense, it is pretty interesting to see where all of this is going. how do obama and holder measure the "success" of this program, by the number of dead americans killed by mexican cartel members? are we gonna have a body count, kept in comparison with the afghanistan campaign on "gunwalker?" end update: 07.13.2011.
update: hat tip to carolyn at uncoverage. a member of the mexican drug cartel explains in an interview that the mexican cartel knew they were buying weapons directly from the united states government. ann barnhardt, at capital management, inc., has the interview and a partial transcript of same, in which these allegations/assertions/admissions are made by a mexican national, a member of the cartel, recently captured. "drug cartel bought guns directly from u.s. government," posted by ann barnhardt july 11, ad 2011 10.52 a.m. mst. http://barnhardt.biz/index.cfm .
this, coupled with barack "brainless" obama's deficit ceiling debacle, indicates to me that obama is a one term president. end update: @ 07.12.2011.
update: a c-span film shows deputy asst. attorney general david ogden announcing the commencement of "operation gunrunner" on march 24 2009, announcing the same as being directed by president barack obama, in order to fight mexican drug cartels. ogden says, in the 2009 film, that he and attorney general eric holder have taken several aggressive steps to implement this directive, including "gunrunner."
this c-span film may be found here, at youtube, which seems to forget nothing (until directed to pull it down by "higher authorities.") http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PNhYk9NuNc&feature=player_embedded
i found out about this at jaded haven, http://jadedhaven.wordpress.com/2011/07/10/operation-gunrunner-announced-in-2009/ . hat tip, daphne. her story is entitled, appropriately enough, "indictments anyone?"
no news as of yet, whether any american citizens and/or legal resident aliens have been killed by the use of the guns the department of justice put into the hands of mexican thugs via the tampa operation, as has been documented by the guns "run" into mexico by the u.s. government in phoenix, arizona. one can only wonder, eh? end update. @ 07.10.011
this, from sipsey street regulars. and, a "hat tip" to friend carolyn, who knows much.
seems like the department of justice is trying to put the mafia out of business. as competitors running guns to the mexican cartel, not as cops trying to interdict drugs from mexico. you suppose eric holder is working on commission? stupid bastards.

in surely the largest political blunder made by any president of recent times, maybe ever, barack "brainless" obama has threatened to withhold social security checks from millions of americans, beginning in august of this year, if there is no "deal" to his satisfaction with congress on the debt ceiling issue.
what's next, a public raping of babies at high noon on pennsylvania avenue? that might be almost as stupid as what the silly bastard has just done.
if the democrats withhold social security checks, there are gonna be some people hanging upside down from lamp posts. it just isn't gonna be pretty. it will be, however, sudden.
