i have savaged the archbishop of canterbury, leader of the anglicans, for his indifference to the fate of christians being slaughtered in the middle east by muslims. as i have savaged the pope of rome, the head of the catholics.
perhaps the archbishop is not as brain dead as i have asserted. nor as spiritually thick. i do not, however, apologize for my prior polemic, as i think the place of the sheepdog is precisely between the flock and the wolf, and not comfortably on his blanket before the fireplace at company headquarters. if the archbishop wants to be archbishop, he should step up and protect the flock, and be archbishop.

in my view, although this is a thoughtful statement, he needs to do more. he needs to go to the middle east, face islam, and beard the lion in his den. well, perhaps he is disinclined to be martyred, though i think the risk of it comes with the job: he has taken the benefits and comforts of the post, and now he should bear some of the same burdens faced by his flock.
but, it is a start, the statements he has made, and shows that he is at least aware of the problems.
i will give him that, and without qualification.
