p.s. the courier was identified via interrogation of al queda operatives/members at the detention center at guantanamo. put that in your pipe and smoke it.

what we learned in the assassination of osama bin laden, is not necessarily what we think we learned.
there will, of course, be lots of learned discourse on hiding in plain sight.
and, someone is bound to note that though justice ”…grinds slow, it grinds exceeding fine.”
that sort of thing, all of it true enough.
but, the true lesson of this killing is that it took some time, the fire fight and extraction of the assaulting forces and osama’s body taking something around ½ hour or so. 30 minutes, more or less, and one very dead terrorist, with one very seriously scrambled brain.
and, during that entire time, it appears that no al queda came to the defense of osama bin laden. think about that for a few moments. just think.
does that mean that al queda somehow abandoned or disavowed or neglected bin laden? that they have moved on from the leadership of their spiritual leader and founder? not too damned likely in my estimation.
it does, however, suggest the inference that osama bin laden concluded long ago that it is very damned dangerous to be around al queda encampments or training centers, and that in his estimation direct communication with, and proximity to, al queda installations and troops would likely prove quite likely lethal to him.
so he distanced and segregated himself from that danger, and concluded that it was safer to run the risk of dying alone & undefended than to seek shelter amongst his own. so he thought & sought, but, ultimately to no avail.
so, he put himself in a walled enclave, with no windows to the outside, and no means of communication that could be traced to him. in the end, he was betrayed by u.s./pakistaniq(?) detection of two of his trusted couriers. and, he put himself in this enclave as far away from the reach and association of his terrorist thugs as practicable.
we followed the carrier pigeons to the roost.
that we found him at all, points to the chief lesson of this episode. nd that is, that the need to establish safe methods of communication is the largest chink in the armor of terrorism. osama bin laden apparently had no electronics in his compound subject to trace, but relied on his carrier pigeons. they were effective as long as they remained anonymous, but, once detected, they were the rope that connected bin laden to the gibbet.
and, thereby hangs the tail.
in the end he could not avoid the realities of mortality and being hunted by a power that can project itself into the very reaches of the khyber. and, in the middle of the greatest influence and reach of al queda, al queda was rendered powerless to protect their soul, because he had to removed himself from them, in his estimation, to survive.
al queda proved the biggest threat to al queda. terrorists don’t live long. simple as that.

p.s. it is informative that five american presidents live normal & quite public lives. they are not recluses who live in walled enclaves, imprisoned by a need to remain unknown. their whereabouts, and their agendas are known, and they travel the world, 4 as private citizens, one as a pompous ass surrounded by an entourage the likes of which roman emperors never knew. hell, it is something never conceived even by boxers, notorious for the moochers and parasites that attach themselves and feed the egos of punch drunk twits.
compare and contrast these situations if you will, and understand what terrorism is.
it is your fear.
part of that died in pakistan the other day, his brains irretrievably scrambled.
