what has the appeasement of the western christian churches achieved for christians subject to relentless islamic attack in the middle east?
well, it is clear that it has achieved nothing except to encourage islamic mobs to further rage, murder and church burnings. if the leaders of the christian church hoped to accomplish anything by their moral cowardice, their personal ambivalence to this situation in egypt and syria and elsewhere, they have failed abjectly.
it is abundantly clear that when the pope and the archbishop toss more sheep to the wolf, that the appetite and blood lust of the wolf is not slaked, not slackened, not satiated. it is equally clear that the muslim mob is not chastised nor shamed by the meek submission to its murder, but that its appetite is heightened, its lust excited, its rage exacerbated by the pacifism of the west.
it is also clear that the pope and the archbishop of the anglicans are moral and physical cowards, incapable of rousing themselves to defend the flocks. they have been entrusted with this function by g_d, if we are to believe their self serving declarations of the same, and by any standard of judgment, they have violated this trust to flock and g_d alike in such manner and in such dimension, that surely they shall come cropper of it on judgment day.
how many popes and archbishops reside in hell, it is hard to say. i venture a guess there will be two more, shortly. one, sort of absentmindedly oblivious, and one really stupid one. take your pick.
if the pope and the archbishop do not have the capability of defending the flock, of interposing their moral authority and physical beings between their sheep and the ravening wolves, then they simply ought to get out of the damned way, and let the people defend themselves. lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way, is the old injunction, and in this case, it is g_d's literal injunction to these two dunces.
i note, that the dali lama has observed that it was morally defensible to kill osama bin laden, such was the dimension of his atrocity and murder, and his continued callous and murderous intent. if the dali lama, as steeped as he is in his traditions of peace & pacifism is capable of such incisive moral insight, then why oh why are not the pope and the archbishop of the anglicans capable of a similar calculus ... . their obliviousness to this situation is mind boggling, simply staggering.
and, i don't think that g_d will forgive them for it. for eternity.
