so said chicago cubs manager, presumably after the game, mike quade when his shortstop, starlin castro, made 3 boots of the ball in the second inning of a 5-3 loss to the colorado rockies on april 25, 2011 in chicago. dateline, ap (chicago), author not cited.
they don't make any better game than baseball, nor any game richer in its lexicon. nor, too many managers more laconic than quade. i can assure you that is not exactly how he voiced his impressions in the chicago dugout while the 2nd inning progressed. and, i doubt starlin castro heard much reflective philosophy when he returned to the dugout at the end of colorado's portion of the inning.
castro will take extra fielding this day, and the next, and the next. so as not to hurry when the pig is wet.
"if you're in a hurry with a wet pig, you're in trouble." well & succinctly put. and, pretty much applicable across life's board.
